GrandBackup

Activity Log

GrandBackup keeps an activity log in the Log file you specified and also writes all output to the Log view panel. This will assist you by showing which files and folder levels have been processed. Each Task displays its own log here, irrespective of any others.

To view the Log panel

To show or hide the log display, select View -> Log

To find text in the Log file

Right-click anywhere on the Log panel and select Search... (or Ctrl+F). Enter the text you want to find in the Find what: field and press OK, then you can select Search Again... (or F3) to continue searching.

Tip

Tip:
You can search the log for the word ôErrorö to look for errors in a backup job.

To save the Log file

You can save the log file for later viewing or analysis. To save the log file, right-click on the Log panel and select Save As... (Ctrl+S), then enter a filename.

Tip

Note:
By default, all Tasks write their logs to a common file called GrandBackup.log in the program folder. For more information on logging settings see Preferences -> Task Defaults -> Activity Logging

To set logging options

To change GrandBackup activity logging settings, right-click on the Log panel and select Options... to show the Preferences | Log Display dialog.
